Lovely St. Louis 1928 $500 with Paper Originality
Fr. 2200-H $500 1928 Federal Reserve Note. PMG Gem Uncirculated
65 EPQ.A lovely, well-centered St. Louis $500 with bold color and embossing that includes serial numbers and the Treasury seal. PMG has graded 465 examples of this Friedberg number, and only 64 have been graded 65 EPQ or better. Fr. 2200-H notes grading Gem 65 EPQ/PPQ have shown a steady increase for the most part since 2012 in prices realized in our auctions, as has Gem small size $500 notes in general. A winning bid of $4,600 was achieved at our FUN 2012 auction for a PCGS 65 PPQ piece and the note in this lot fetched $6,600 in September 2020.
