Fr. 61a $5 1862 Legal Tender PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ.A delightful Series 45 note, this piece has appeared at auction only one time as far as we know, and that was over 30 years ago. Natural paper wave and excellent inks make for one quality addition to the next collection that it enters. We auctioned two of these graded 64 by PMG in 2019 and 2020. The January, 2019 example graded PMG 64 EPQ and realized $3,120. The September, 2020 piece graded PMG 64 with the comment of "Good Embossing" on the back label and brought $3,840.
