Newport, RI - $100 1929 Ty. 1 The Newport National Bank Ch. # 1492 PMG Very Fine 20.Certainly not a scarce Rhode Island bank, but this is just the second small size $100 to be reported from this charter, and the first of the pair to ever appear at public auction. Those scant numbers should come as no surprise, as this Newport bank issued just 36 sheets of Type 1 $100s. This moderately circulated example which bears low serial number E000021A, does have some paper clip rust and paper pulls on its back.
