Fr. 244 $2 1886 Silver Certificate PMG Gem Uncirculated 65
EPQ.This Large Brown Seal Hancock is not a truly rare note, but it is more scarce than the normally seen Fr. 242, with over 650 Fr. 242s known against barely 250 Fr. 244s. The numbers become even more disproportionate in the higher grades, as two long runs of Uncirculated 242's are known, but 244's in top condition are truly rare. This is a high-end Hancock deuce that is well centered within balanced margins. Ideal inks and white paper truly stand out on this beauty. Last year, we sold another PMG 65 EPQ example for $9,900.
