Description

Troupe, TX - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 608 The First National Bank Ch. # 6212 PMG Very Fine 30.
This very pretty note is easily the finest of just four large size available to collectors from this scarce Smith County bank. Last on the market in a 2001 auction, this $5 saw only moderate circulation and retains bright paper, nice color, and the bold purple stamped signature of the bank's cashier. It also bears a so-called "Fourth Charter" plate date of 1922.
