Freehold, NJ - $5 Original Fr. 397a The Freehold National Banking Company Ch. # 951 PMG Extremely Fine 40.This bank lasted from 1865 until just a few weeks before Christmas 1884 and issued First Charter notes only. This gorgeous Original Series Five is one of less than a dozen pieces in the census and is certainly just about the finest note known from this charter. It has the initial look of a Choice New note with bright paper and vivid ink colors. Only upon close examination can a few light folds and a small edge tear be found.
