55.This gorgeous $100 Brown Back is from a major Philadelphia bank that has provided some of the nicest $100 Brown Backs for generations. Tracing its provenance to our auction of The Tom Flynn Collection in 2008, this hugely margined note features blazing ink colors, dark printed signatures, and only light handling. PMG has agreed with our assessment about the margins as it has added the comment "Great Margins" to its holder. Almost eighteen years ago, at the peak of the market of that era, this piece fetched a strong $27,600. While we do not expect that realization tonight, it is still rare and lovely enough to bring a solid five-figure number.
