Tottenville, NY - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 626 The Tottenville
National Bank Ch. # 8334 PCGS Banknote Very Fine 30.A very attractive note from an extremely rare Staten Island bank, this piece was once part of The Walter Dornfest Collection that we offered in our inaugural auction in November 1990. This bank was the sole issuer in this community located at the extreme southern tip of Staten Island and it maintained a minimal circulation of just $10,000 until 1935 with an outstanding large size amount of just $460. Held by our consignor since he acquired it in a 2013 auction, this $10 Plain Back is one of just four large size reported (along with a solitary small). It is a pen-signed beauty with bright paper, sharp colors, and just even wear.
