Sturgis, MI - $5 1875 Fr. 401 The First National Bank Ch. # 825
PMG Choice Fine 15.An excessively rare note from a bank that issued First Charters only before liquidating on the last day of the year in 1884. Just three examples are known, a repaired PMG Fine 15 Lazy Deuce, which brought $3,000 at auction in 2017, and two 1875 $5s, one of which is a damaged Very Good. This is the other reported 1875 $5, which was once part of the Lee DeGood holdings. Fortunately for collectors, this is a pleasing mid-grade example with good color and even wear.
