Description

Unique Brighton, MA First Charter $20

Brighton, MA - $20 1875 Fr. 433 The National Bank of Brighton Ch. # 1099 PCGS Banknote Very Fine 30.
A lovely note from a very scarce Suffolk County bank that issued First Charters only before bowing out in 1881, this is the only First Charter $20 reported from either of this community's two issuers. It has the typical New England trim, but, otherwise, it is a very attractive example of this better type and denomination. It has bright paper, good color, and dark pen signatures of Cashier B(ela) S. Fiske and President C(hester) Ward Kingsley.
