New York, NY - $50 1882 Brown Back Fr. 508 The National Bank of
Commerce Ch. # 733 PCGS Banknote Very Fine 20.A decidedly uncommon note from this otherwise common New York City bank, this is the only $50 Brown Back reported extant from this well-known charter and it is making its first public appearance since it was acquired by our consignor out of a 2003 auction. It is a pleasing, well margined example of this rare type and denomination that displays nice color and clear pen signatures. Its only flaws are a small stain at right and a few small repaired edge tears.
