Description

Attractive and Rare Original Series Ace from Bath, NY

Bath, NY - $1 Original Fr. 380a The First National Bank Ch. # 165 PMG Choice Very Fine 35.
A very rare note from a Steuben County bank which issued First Charters and Brown Backs only before liquidating in 1898. Only five notes are known from here - four Original Series Aces and a $10 Brown Back - including this example which is crossing the public auction block for the first time. It is a most attractive example with wonderful color and the bold pen signatures of two members of the Cook family. Recently, another Ace from this bank, in a PMG Very Fine 30 holder with mention of pinholes, sold at auction for $5,760.
