Rare and Attractive Indiana Original Series $20
Jeffersonville, IN - $20 Original Fr. 427a The Citizens National
Bank Ch. # 1466 PMG Very Fine 20.A very scarce note from by far the better of this small community's two issuing banks. Just seven notes are known from this institution, with this the only First Charter twenty. This piece traces its pedigree back to The Del Bertschy Collection, which was sold across two sales by Hickman-Oakes in 1989. It also represents a very rare type and denomination as well for Indiana as it is one of fewer than ten Original Series $20s reported for all Hoosier State banks. Fortunately for collectors, it is also an attractive example of this scarce type as it is well margined with pleasing color and solid paper.
