Boothbay Harbor, ME - $20 1882 Brown Back Fr. 504 The First
National Bank Ch. # (N)5598 PMG Very Fine 30.This is a most attractive example from this very scarce and seldom offered Maine bank. While a half dozen notes are reported, three of them are listed without a serial number or grade, indicating they have not been on the market in decades. This $20 Brown Back, which is crossing the auction block for the first time, is a well margined piece with excellent color and legible pen signatures. PMG has mentioned a tear which is not at all distracting.
