Description

First Reported Stone, Kentucky Small Size

Stone, KY - $5 1929 Ty. 1 The First National Bank Ch. # 11890 PMG Fine 12.
This is a great new discovery from this Pike County bank that is always in demand due to its unique town name. Only in business from 1920 until its failure in 1931, this charter issued only $5 Plain Backs and small size Type 1 $5s. Prior to this evening, just six large and no small notes were reported from this popular charter. That all changes with the surfacing of this piece. It is well circulated but retains solid paper for the grade and provides an opportunity for one collector to finally acquire a small size note from this heretofore unavailable bank.
