Guilford, CT - $5 1882 Brown Back Fr. 477 The Guilford National
Bank Ch. # (N)5358 PCGS Banknote Very Fine 30 PPQ.A lovely note from Guilford's only issuer, which lasted a mere fourteen years before electing to liquidate in 1914. One of just eight pieces in the census, this $5 Brown Back, which is likely the finest of that small group, is making its first public appearance since our consignor acquired it out of our 1998 FUN auction. The first note from here to cross the public auction block since 2012, it features loads of eye appeal with bright paper, vibrant ink colors, and bold pen signatures.
