Serial Number 1 Rialto, CA - $10 1929 Ty. 1 The Citizens
National Bank Ch. # 11867 PMG Choice Very Fine 35.From Rialto's second, and considerably rarer, second issuer, this is an incredible California National that is not only one of just two small size reported from this charter that closed in 1931, it is also a very attractive Serial Number 1 $10. It is a boldly printed and well embossed note that likely missed out on an EPQ designation from PMG due to staple holes. By way of comparison, we auctioned the other known small size from this charter, a PMG Very Fine 25 example with an "ordinary" serial number, for $6,600 six years ago. This true Golden State rarity, which is fit for the finest of collections, should realize substantially more.
