Description

$100 Liberty Loan of 1917

(First) Liberty Loan of 1917 $100 3 1/2% Bond June 15, 1917.
We have auctioned only a few bonds from the first Liberty Loan drive with all being of either the $50 or $100 denominations. These are much scarcer than the bonds from the later drives. The $100 has a portrait of President Jackson at left and a vignette of the Statue of Liberty at right. The Treasury officials are Teehee and McAdoo. This example has a rubber stamped, red ink American Express oval at upper right. Fine.
