HB-230 EP-29 Reed-WL01 1¢ Weir & Larminie Very Fine.While the second most common denomination for the only Canadian issuer of John Gault's product, 1¢ Weir & Larminies are far from common. Reed considers these to be an R-8+, and we believe the census to be right around ten. The mica has some very minor surface scratches and a minimum of crazing for the grade. The advertising side carries some minor scratches and shows some toning within the lettering. The stamp is very dark. This issuer was a private banking and specie brokerage concern. G.H. Larminie ordered the firm's Encased Postage on a visit to New York.
