Description

HB-168 EP-20 Reed LT01 1¢ Lord & Taylor Extremely Fine.
The Lord & Taylor 1¢ is a very scarce piece. It is seen with about the same frequency as the 12¢ and 24¢ denominations for the issuer. The 1¢ denomination is considered an R-8+ by Fred Reed. The dark blue stamp is centered with a wrinkle. The case exhibits toning, while the mica is clear save for just a small amount of crazing. Lord & Taylor was America's oldest department store, staying in business from 1826 to 2021. Finally, on February 27, 2021, the remaining 19 stores closed for the final time. Saadia Group purchased the assets and revived the brand in 2021 as an online store.
