T33 $5 1861 PF-7 Cr. 254Ba Plate State II PMG About Uncirculated 50 EPQ.The Keatinge & Ball imprint on this T33 $5 is almost entirely missing "VA" after "Richmond" making it a plate state II note. It was part of a single group of notes with plate letters H-K and black serial numbers signed only by Crouch and Gray. In 2014, Fricke indicated that notes exhibiting this plate state were Rarity 10, suggesting a surviving population of a few more than 21 to 50 examples. A lovely example of a rare variety.
