Fr. 268 $5 1896 Silver Certificate Face Proof (1895) Hessler
SCE13 PCGS Choice New 63.A pleasing example of the $5 Educational face dated 1895 that appears a bit darker than the agreed upon design used for series of 1896 notes. A notation in the lower right corner mentions this is a proof after hardening die. Mounted on cardstock, this piece once resided in the Harry E. Jones Collection.
