Series 1875 $20 from Pulaski Tennessee
Pulaski, TN - $20 1875 Fr. 432 The Giles NB Ch. # 1990A wonderful new discovery, and an exceptionally rare note for both bank and type. This bank, one of the five to issue in this small county seat location, issued First Charters only before liquidating at the expiration of its charter in 1892. A mere three notes are reported, with the last to be offered at public sale changing hands in our June 1994 Memphis auction. This is also one of only five Series 1875 twenties recorded from all banks in Tennessee combined, with the other four coming from big city banks in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis and Nashville. PCGS Apparent Fine 12, with mention made of small edge tears and a rust stain at the center, none of which affects the desirability of this Tennessee rarity one whit.
