Rare High-Grade 1922 $1000 Gold Certificate
Fr. 1220 $1000 1922 Gold Certificate PMG About Uncirculated 55.This problem-free high grade $1000 Gold has been off the market since we last sold it in September 2008. Solid margins frame perfectly printed design details. The richly colored back design (PMG has commented "Great Color") has retained its mandarin orange color, while the overprint on the face is golden-orange. Few $1000 Golds have escaped restoration, which makes this a refreshing departure from the norm. PMG has graded ten examples of this number, with this the highest grade by a full ten points. This note's combination of real rarity, high grade, and superb eye appeal could create a six-figure realization this evening.
