Gem Serial Number 8 1891 $20 Silver Certificate
Fr. 317 $20 1891 Silver Certificate PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.When we last sold this note at our January 2008 FUN Auction, it realized $29,900. It is one of only three known single digit examples for this Friedberg number. The serial number 1 note is an AU and serial number 6 is Choice. Only fifty-eight examples of this number are listed by Track & Price and only two third party graded notes have sold in any Uncirculated grade. This one is a beauty, with very broad margins and plainly evident paper originality.
