Newly Discovered Unique Non-Mule Fr. 121 Star
Fr. 121* $10 1901 Legal Tender PMG Very Fine 30.Thirty two Friedberg 121 Stars are known. Until this note was recently discovered, every Star example of this number was a Mule and Star non-Mules were thought to be non-existent. This note bears back plate number 3 in the lower left corner and is clearly a non-Mule variety. The note is a solid VF, totally free of problems, with a bold red overprint and decent margins. The most exciting discovery in years to the Star Note community and a challenge to estimate. The price will be set by the most determined bidder this evening, but we would not be at all surprised by a five figure result.
