New York, NY - $5 1882 Brown Back Fr. 472 The NB of North America Ch. # 4581As nice a New York Brown Back as one is ever likely to find. The originality is so evident it can be seen through the holder, the colors are perfect, the signatures clear and sharp, and the note displays every indication of having been perfectly preserved since the moment it left the bank. This piece bears the second of New York's two seals, a slightly modified version of the first. The eagle at the top now sits upon a globe, the shield now contains two ships as well as the mountains and the rising sun, and the state motto has been moved to a somewhat more prominent location.
