Pleasing $500 Gold
Fr. 1216 $500 1882 Gold Certificate PCGS Very Fine 20. This piece first appeared at auction as part of the John Ameen Collection in our 2007 September Long Beach Signature Auction. At that time, its description read, "Strong color remains on both sides of this high denomination Gold Certificate. That is particularly important on the back as the orange color was prone to fading and many of these five hundreds appear decent from the face, but several grades lower when the back is examined. That is not so with this piece, which has retained its bright orange color and most all the details of the design. A problem-free evenly circulated example."Auction Info
