San Fernando, CA - $20 1902 Plain Back Fr. 652 The First NB Ch. # (P)9575A truly rare Los Angeles County bank that issued only a handful of Third Charter Date Backs and Plain Backs during its brief existence. The latest census lists only four survivors from here with this piece a happy addition to that small group. It is a pleasing mid-grade note with attractive signatures and good color. The last offering on this rare institution was in our 2008 FUN sale where a marginally better example realized over $4,000. PCGS Apparent Very Fine 20, with a couple of barely noticeable edge splits.
