Austin, TX- Auditor's Certificate $50-$50-$50-$50 Jan. 21, 1842 Cr. AW10-AW10A-AW10-AW10A Medlar 13-UNL-13-UNL Uncut SheetThis is the only example of these Criswell/Medlar numbers that we have ever offered. The Shull reference lists three note uncut sheets of this number as "rare" with no mention of a four note sheet. These military service notes were issued in 1842, but it looks like the writer forgot it was "1842" and originally wrote the date of "1841" and then penned over the final "1" in the date with a "2." That probably led to this sheet having "cancelled" written across its entire length vertically. The differences in the Criswell numbers are that the first and third notes have an "*" at the center of the right frame line and the other two notes do not have the "*." PMG Extremely Fine 40.
