Description
New Jersey June 9, 1780 $8 PMG Extremely Fine 40 EPQ.David Brearley, whose signature appears first on this note, also signed the US Constitution on behalf of New Jersey. His compatriot Philemon Dickinson is the other signature that appears on this New Jersey issue. Dickinson was likewise an interesting character, as he acted as Brigadier General of the New Jersey militia and subsequently served as a delegate to the Continental Congress and US Senator for New Jersey. We last offered a comparable PMG 40 (no EPQ) example of this New Jersey $8 in February 2021. That piece realized $660. We expect this EPQ example to do as well or better.
