Description

Continental Currency January 14, 1779 $80 PMG About Uncirculated 53 EPQ.
This was the largest denomination issued by the Continental Congress and featured a companion face element to the $70 note with a motto saying that the tree on that note had survived the force of the storm for four years. The tree emblem on the $80 has a motto that completes the thought - ET IN SECULA SECULORUM FLORESCEBIT (and it will flourish for ages and ages). An attractive note that faces up well with good colors and decent margins.
From The Willamette Collection Part IV
