Description
Giori Press Jefferson Center Test Note ND circa 1950s Rothberg RGGB5a/0FNSswU-RGJ5a/0FNSswU PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.The uniface Giori Test Notes with Jefferson at center were printed in West Germany in the 1950s, see U.S. Essay, Proof and Specimen Notes second edition pages 244-45 by Gene Hessler. The 1970s date on the PMG label is incorrect for the Jefferson at Center Gioris. These are scarcer than the later Washington at Center Gioris. The example in this lot is considered even better for a Jefferson at Center Giori as it has serial numbers on its back and face designs. The serial numbers are oriented correctly and printed in red ink. The serial numbers are the same on both designs, A99992640A. We have seen this serial number before on Jefferson Gioris.
