Philadelphia, PA- Pennepack School Lottery Lottery Ticket Jan. 1, 1806 Remainder Gem Crisp Uncirculated.A fascinating lottery ticket remainder with full indent, tons of embossing, and wide margins all around. From the "Laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania," found in Chapter MMDLIII (that's 2553 for those who don't remember Roman numerals). "Passed 14th March, 1805. An ACT to raise, by way of lottery a sum of money, for the benefit of Pennepack school. Five thousand dollars to be raised for building and completing Pennepack school..." We first sold this piece for $288 in January.
