Chambersburg, PA - $5 1882 Brown Back Fr. 471 The Valley National Bank Ch. # (E)4272 PMG Very Fine 20.From a small community in southern Pennsylvania that was the site of a famous Confederate raid during the Civil War, this piece is a tougher early note from this bank. Dark pen signatures and pleasing color are found on this bright, well margined $5 Brown Back. The last problem-free example we auctioned was a PMG Very Fine 30 that brought $840 a couple of years ago.
