Hamilton, NY- Whitney & Graves 9¢ Dec. 29, 1814 Harris H9 PMG Choice Fine 15.Whitney & Graves was a merchant partnership that issued 6¢ and 9¢ (and probably other denominations) scrip during the War of 1812 when coins became a scarce commodity. PMG mentions a few stains that are not overly distracting. This is the only example of this denomination from this issuer we have ever offered.
