Description

Cincinnati, OH- Bank of Cincinnati $3 Sep. 15, 1814 Very Good-Fine;
Norwalk, OH- Bank of Norwalk $3 Nov. 23, 1844 Very Good-Fine;
Urbana, OH- Urbana Banking Company $5 Oct. 10, 1838 Very Good-Fine.
The Bank of Cincinnati $3 has an endorsement on the back stating that payment had been demanded on March 25, 1825 as part of the protest process and another on the face noting that a court judgement was carried out on December 24, 1829. These two endorsements neatly summarize the bank's fate. The bank failed three times between 1819 and 1842. The note is cut canceled. The Urbana note has minor edge roughness, particularly in the top margin. (Total: 3 notes)
