Description

T39 $100 1862 PF-13 Cr. 296 Very Fine-Extremely Fine;
T41 $100 1862 PF-16 Cr. 320 Very Fine-Extremely Fine.
The T39 note was issued to the field by Thaddeus Sanford, the Montgomery Depositary on November 18, 1862 as evidenced by his round "postal style" stamp on the back which is also accompanied by a three line Columbus, GA IP stamp paying interest to January 1, 1865. There appears to be a simple dual horizontal line "watermark" which is likely just an "as-made" paper characteristic.
The T41 $100 was issued by John Boston, Savannah Depositary, on October 30, 1862 as evidenced by his stamp on the back accompanied by black IP stamps from Augusta, GA and Jackson, MS paying interest to January 1, 1863 and 1865 respectively. (Total: 2 notes)
