Description

Augusta, GA - Bank of Augusta $4 18__ G54a, Three Remainders
Oval portraits of Franklin and Washington flank a vignette of Archimedes lifting the world with a lever on these three $4 remainders. Sheets of these remainder notes were used to print the bank's fractional notes on the backs during the Civil War. Someone much later decided that the prewar notes would be the survivors when the sheet was cut. About Uncirculated or Better, with one example displaying some water stains. (Total: 3 notes)
