Incredible Highest Denomination Rarity

Venezuela Banco Central De Venezuela 500 Bolívares 18.12.1940 Pick 35 PMG Choice Very Fine 35.
For many decades in the 20th century, the US Dollar and Venezuelan Bolivar was exchangeable at $1 = 3.75 VES. This 500 Bolivares was the highest denomination of the Central Bank series and its enormous face value meant that few were issued and only a few exist to be collected today. Perhaps print totals for this type are somewhere between 50,000 and 70,000 notes only. This example is moderately circulated with a problem-free and bright appearance. At the time of cataloging, only one example grades higher in the PMG Population Report, of only eight examples graded across all dates in 1940. The blue 500 Bolivares was issued only in 1940, and it was replaced by a red colored variety in 1943. A famed Venezuelan rarity not to be missed.
