Germany Federal Republic U.S. Army Command 50 Deutsche Mark ND (1948) Pick 10a PMG Choice Uncirculated 64.An impressive and very rare type note that was issued for only one year. For some reason, beginning in 1948, banknotes of the series printed by Tudor & Forbes presses circulated side by side with a completely different American Banknote Company series. The two highest denominations of the Tudor Press series were counterfeited and it was decided to suspend their issuance, as there were simultaneously 20 & 50 Deutsche Marks in circulation printed by the American Banknote Company. This rare offering grades Choice Uncirculated and is not generally offered in anything close to this grade. At the time of cataloging, this is only the seventh example graded in the PMG Population Report.
