Description

T13 $100 1861 PF-6 Cr. 58.
Hoyer & Ludwig printed just over 629,000 of this design which was issued between October 22, 1861 and April 16, 1862. The rather crude nature of the design attracted counterfeiters whose products were nearly as good. This example, which was once part of the Pierre Fricke collection, represents the rare Plate State I for this variety with doubles lines by and around "HUNDRED DOLLARS" and flourishes under "America." PMG About Uncirculated 50.
