Rare Gem Fr. 1652 K-A Block Mule $5 Silver
Fr. 1652 $5 1934B Mule Silver Certificate. K-A Block. PMG Gem
Uncirculated 66 EPQ.This is a beautiful example of this rare $5 Mule Silver that features fabled Back Plate Number 637. It is one of six pieces graded at this lofty level by PMG with none finer. Those six notes are split evenly between the K-A Block and the L-A Block with this offering from the K-A Block. Micro Back Plate Number 637 in an unfinished state was found in the plate vault in 1944. This plate was completed on November 10, 1944. It would spend time on the presses from June 23, 1945 to June 16, 1949. Widely margined and pack fresh, it is certainly at least the equal of another PMG Gem 66 EPQ K-A Block Mule that we sold almost three years ago for $4,920.
