Description
Important and Historical Series 1928 Dallas Serial Number 1
Serial Number 1 Fr. 1950-K $5 1928 Federal Reserve Note. PMG Gem
Uncirculated 66 EPQ.At least the first three $5 Series 1928 sheets for the Dallas district were originally issued in uncut form with sheets two and three remaining uncut according to the tenth and latest edition of the Standard Guide to Small-Size U.S. Paper Money by John Schwartz and Scott Lindquist. The first sheet of serial numbers 1-12 was cut up into individual notes and at least one uncut strip of three. The well centered, broad margined example in this lot possesses all of the originality that collectors desire. It is also definitely an important and historical note as it is the very first Small Size Serial Number 00000001 printed for the Dallas district, as the $5s were printed first, and their first delivery was in March 1929. The other Dallas FRN denominations for Series 1928, $10-$10,000, were first delivered in April 1929 and continued into 1930.
