Description

Choice Fr. 824 $20 FRBN

Fr. 824 $20 1915 Federal Reserve Bank Note PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.
This choice Chicago $20 Blue Seal FRBN features a portrait of Grover Cleveland on the face while the back depicts all forms of modern transportation represented by an ocean liner leaving New York Harbor with the Statue of Liberty in the distance and an interesting vignette of a touring car seeming to race a passenger train with an early biplane in the distant sky. The car seems to be too small in scale compared to the immense locomotive. This is the first and last United States bank note design to portray an airplane. The note is well printed on bright paper with excellent color and margins. This is a scarce note, with only 38 examples recorded in the Track & Price census. While not a contender for the "top pop" spot, with six other notes having higher grades in the PMG Population Report out of 17 listed, this is still a premium quality note with great visual appeal.
