Description
Famously Rare King George V 50 Rupees
India Government of India, Calcutta 50 Rupees ND (1930) Pick
9d Jhunjhunwalla-Razack 3.9.2B PMG About Uncirculated
50.A key denomination featuring King George V. The 50 Rupees of this series proves challenging, as print totals were fewer than that of the 10 and 100 Rupees more generally seen. At the time of cataloging, PMG has graded only 24 examples of this 50 Rupees from Calcutta, with only one example grading higher than this offering. Spindle hole at issue is mentioned for accuracy. Especially rare in this grade and a type missing from many collections. Interestingly, there was no 50 Rupees in the short-set of denominations issued from 1928 to 1935 by the Government of India, and no 50 Rupees in the King George VI series issued by the Reserve Bank of India.
PMG About Uncirculated 50。
