Pristine $10 Legal Tender Bison PCGS Banknote 67 PPQ
Fr. 114 $10 1901 Legal Tender PCGS Banknote Superb Gem Unc 67
PPQ.A pristine Bison that made its first auction appearance in 1984. We later auctioned it in May 2009 for $11,500 when it was in a PMG 66 EPQ holder when we said, "The margins are unusually broad and even all the way around. The corners are razor-sharp, the colors are spectacular, and the note has retained all of its original embossing." It has since been graded by PCGS Banknote as a 67 PPQ and is tied with one other example as the finest Fr. 114 that they have examined. A further look at the PMG Population Report finds that they have graded five equal and two higher, with the latter two higher graded examples earning PMG 67 EPQ* grades. We offered the other PCGS Banknote 67 PPQ in September 2024 and it charged all the way to a $28,000 winning bid. Our current lovely offering should repeat that performance, if not improve on it.
