Serial Number 1 Milwaukee, WI - $10 1929 Ty. 1 Marine National
Exchange Bank Ch. # 5458 PCGS Banknote Very Fine 20.Surprisingly, this is the only serial number 1 example of this large Milwaukee bank's second title that is reported. Apparently, when the Marine National merged with the National Exchange Bank in July 1930 which resulted in a title change on its notes, the bank's officers regarded it as a non-event and the new notes, including the serial number 1 pieces, were sent out into circulation. Fortunately, a sharp-eyed collector spotted this piece and saved it for future generations.
