Description

Fr. 301 $10 1891 Silver Certificate PMG About Uncirculated 55 EPQ.
Popularly referred to as the Tombstone Note due to the shape of the portrait frame. It is ironic that it is, in fact, a memorial of sorts, paying tribute to Thomas A. Hendricks, who died while serving as Vice President in 1885. The 1891 series design reflects the thinking of the time that minimizing engraved elements and maximizing white space would help focus attention on elements of the design that could be used for counterfeit diagnostics. Ample side margins add to the eye appeal of this Tombstone that has the appearance of at least a Choice Uncirculated example.
