Fr. 69 $5 1878 Legal Tender PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.A lovely one-year type that was represented by a total print run of just over six million notes. While that might be considered large by the standards of the time, it is quite low to represent an entire series with around 275 notes known extant today. The lathework around the large red V at lower right is a rich use of color which was not used with the 1880 $5 Woodchoppers.
